Urban Infrastructure Governance (UIG)


The “Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission” was launched on 3rd December, 2005 for planned Development of Identified Cities with focus on efficiency in Urban Infrastructure/Services, Community Participation and accountability of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), Parastatals towards citizens.

Govt. of India has sanctioned 12 nos. projects costing Rs. 1083.74 Cr. under Urban Infrastructure and Governance (UIG) Sub-Mission of JnNURM in which the Government of India share is Rs. 693.59 Cr. Jaipur and Ajmer-Pushkar have been identified as mission cities under JnNURM. Five works (4 in Jaipur+1 in Ajmer) have been completed so far. MoUD, GoI has extended support to these projects till 31.03.2017 under AMRUT with the condition that release of Central Assistance shall be limited to 50% of approved cost. According to these directions only one project namely BRTS Ph-I (Pkg.-III A & III B) shall receive financial support under AMRUT. UC for BRTS Ph-I (Pkg-IIIA & IIIB) amounting to Rs. 78.11 Cr. has been submitted to MoUD, GoI for release of funds.
